The Emmert Patternmakers Vise (not vice as my wife sees it) was and still is one of the most feature-rich tools in the wood shop. Add one to your bench or better yet build a bench around it and you'll see that I mean. This vise inspired the Lee Valley Tucker Vise, as well as copies by AMT and Woodcraft to name a few. This blog attempts to join new owners with old vises, and will track the street value of vises as they come and go from eBay. Now I've added Lion Miter Trimmers to the hunt!
Emmert Patternmakers Vise For Sale
There's been a bit of a dry spell on eBay, but it has ended with the listing of this Emmert Patternmakers Vise. Item ends Jan 23rd.
I was using an Emmert's vice similar to this one today and the Collar that holds the handle to the screw snapped in half. I'm really not that strong! This is probably the result of a lack of uniformity in the casting. Is there a possibility of finding replacement parts for this vice?
